As many of us know, when it comes to alcohol there are many long and short-term side effects (besides the hangover!) of drinking alcohol.

A recent study suggested that we shouldn’t be consuming any alcohol at all. Easy for some, not so easy for others!

  1. Alcohol affects a lot of body systems and organs, including the brain, heart, gut, and liver. And it can work against us to weaken our immune system!

  2. When it comes to alcohol we need to consider the type of alcohol we are drinking, how often we drink and how much we drink.

  3. Alcohol depletes B vitamins, Zinc and also affects our gut microbiome.

If you are going to drink then always make sure you:

  • Eat prior to starting

  • Space your drinks out

  • Drink water in between every drink
